An amazing experience!
Twelve dogs easily pulled Heather, a guide, myself and our sled up 1000' vertical climb over 3 miles.
One thing to keep in mind with dogsledding is that from the dogs perspective it is apparently just like going for a walk. And what is one of the main things dogs do on walks? Well multiply that by twelve!
Despite their rigorous training, most dogs still seemed to need to stop
and squat. This resulted in rather frequent stops through the sled tour,
Some dogs did make amazing efforts while at full trot.
Probably the most bizarre aspect of sledding was the dog transport mechanism.
The guide picked us up in his pickup with 24 dogs packed into hutches.
Like all dogs, they really enjoy sticking their heads out the window.
